HOW IT WORKS
From observations to a next step
Clearstep organizes what you already know about unexpected water. It suggests a possible source and a type of professional; it does not inspect your home or make a professional diagnosis.
How the check works
Nine questions cover immediate hazards, location, flow, timing, rain, nearby fixtures, foundation, recurrence and noticed signs. Hazard answers end the questions early. Pattern-based rules suggest plumbing, exterior entry, persistent moisture or an uncertain source. Multiple causes may coexist.
Editorial approach
Situation guides discuss possibilities and questions to ask, rather than claiming a confirmed cause or promising a repair outcome. Sources are linked within each guide. The screening rules have not been validated by an independent building professional.
Safety and repair help
Urgent guidance remains visible alongside repair options. A repair contact is not an emergency service. This release provides service-category guidance; provider connections are not active.
